Saying Goodbye...

Lindsey Holtan, Spencer Holtan, Steven Dalros, Crystal Dalros, Me & Charles

So the day has finally come....and it sucks so bad to have to say goodbye to close friends. It never gets easier. I am so thankful that I had the chance to have such good friends while I have been here in Hawaii. Now they are both leaving to start their "real lives" and they are happier than ever. I can't blame them. I can't wait to start our "real life" either. I can't say I'm not jealous. I can't say I don't wish it were us....that would just be a lie!
We had our LAST DINNER at Duke's in Waikiki last night. The food was great, as always! It was so awkward to think that the friends we spent so many dinners with over the past few years are now moving away. We were able to hold ourselves together through dinner, but fell apart shortly after saying or goodbyes. There are always such good intentions to stay in touch, but who really knows if we will see each other face to face again. I can only hope we do...
I am so thankful to say that I had such great friends to keep me sane and together here on this lonely island. I honestly don't know what I am going to do for the next 7-8 months that we have left here. I miss them already....But the military has its way of making people say goodbye quite often. I guess its just how it is. But I am grateful I had these friendships.

Me, Crystal and Lindsey before saying goodbye and getting in our cars....

Oh Monday, How I Loathe Thee....

So glad that today is nearly over. How I hate Mondays. Today was long and hard and aggravating at work, and Charles has duty tonight. So that makes this Monday an even more hated Monday if that makes sense. I'm sure he is probably having a horrible night as well, as all his duty nights usually are. Poor thing. I really just don't know how he does it. We are counting down the days until we can start our "real life" as we call it!
On a brighter note, I do get to come home to three loving critter boys that love me more than anything. No matter what day it is! Oh how they want to cuddle and snuggle and just touch me as soon as I walk through the door. Oliver is currently positioned so close to me while I'm typing that his neck is awkwardly smooshed against my thigh and the dog, who is also currently positioned just as close minus the awkward neck position. Instead, his head is on a feather sofa pillow. Must be nice. None of my three fur sons have any concept of "space". If it looks like a little bit of space, then surely it must be big enough, right?
Well, not much else going on in our hacienda. Just wanted to write a quick note so my blog wouldn't feel neglected like it usually is.....
too ta loo now.
xoxo

Chris Cagle Concert

Last night some friends and I walked from my house to Pearl Harbor for the free Chris Cagle concert...it's so nice that performers occasionally come visit and give FREE shows! I guess this is one of the benefits of being affiliated with the military.
Someone had brought a beach ball and it managed to get on stage where Mr. Cagle signed it....and somehow (still not sure) it landed on the ground next to MY feet! I didn't realize what was going on but figured I should probably grab it! What a nice souvenir!
The show was amazing! He's such a talented performer. Afterwards, there was an after show party downtown at Nashville's, the country bar. Most of the band was there and we were able to meet them too! Overall, a fun night! Wish Charles could have been there!
