Finally Home...:)

So Charles finally arrived home yesterday. (YAY!) He didn't call me to go pick him up until almost nine o'clock. Apparently some of the guys on the boat did something stupid-AGAIN! This morning he had to be at work by six, so I got up and took him and went back to bed until I had to be up for work. He has duty today, so I will see him tomorrow morning when I have to pick him up. After tomorrow, he has the entire weekend off which will be very nice! I think he even has leave all next week which should be great too!
I wore my LSU scrubs to work today...for team spirit, and hopefully we can watch the game tomorrow! There is one other couple from Louisiana, so we may watch it with them. My car should be here any day now. I can't wait! Bourbon will be super happy too because we will be able to go to the dog park way more often.
It was very nice to have Charles home last night and Bourbon couldn't get enough of him either. He wanted to be right on top of him, but what's new! I think Bourbon is a little jealous, so he gets extra pushy when Charles is home.
Today is payday for me and Monday is our Navy payday. I like it when paydays fall twice that close together! It makes my life a lot easier. I have almost gotten all my bills set up on automatic withdrawal. It is soooo much easier that way. I will try to get some good pictures if Charles is home next week and we go out to do something. I have to work all week, so I don't know how much we will get to do. I wish I didn't have to work so I could see him more. But that's life.
Well, back to work for me. I will keep you updated!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all getting to enjoy the three day weekend. I know I sure am. :) I am planning on going to the beach tomorrow and hopefully getting somewhat of a tan. I do love a good tan!
Bourbon is already up and at 'em this morning. He and the pit bull next door have managed to dig a hole under the fences between our yard. Pretty soon they will be over at each others' houses!
Today is another beautiful day in Hawaii (one of the few good things about this place-the weather!). I'd trade it anyday to be back in Baton Rouge though. Who woulda thought?
My car should be on its way for sure by today. Hopefully it is travelling fast at high speed. I just hope it doesn't sink like the super ferry in the Phillipines the other day! Then again....
I went to a pot luck dinner for the boat wives last night which was pretty nice. A lot of people showed up. We mostly just sat around and talked. But there were a ton of kids there and it was so loud that I couldn't hear myself talk/think and I had to get out. I remember when we were little, we were never allowed to act like that or be that loud when the grown ups had a get-together. We either had to play outside or be good inside in our own room. Separated. What happened to those days? I stayed about three hours and when I left they were still going strong.
Okay, I'm off to relax on the sofa with my pooch.

Aloha!

Aloha! Hope everyone is doing well. I have been soooo busy lately so I apologize for no blogging. Work has been pretty busy and now I am ready to enjoy my three day weekend for the Labor Day holiday! Woo Hoo!
So as far as I know, my lovely little Jetta left Long Beach today on a big, big boat. Hopefully it gets here super fast. I can't wait to drive it instead of Charles' big 'ol car. Just to let you all know, I'm pretty much a pro at stick shifts now. Ha Ha!
Well, I have finally gotten our Kauai pictures up. I hope you enjoy! :) The 1200' zip line

Aloha!

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a great week. Time is flying by so fast I can hardly keep up. Can you believe that I have already lived in Hawaii for five months? It seems to have passed by so quickly! That just means that we are five months closer to coming home! Can't wait.
My car was shipped yesterday (thanks to the help of Meme and Pappaw driving it to where it needed to be picked up). I can't wait for it to arrive. I will be counting down the days. I won't know what to do with an automatic transmission! It is going to make my life so much easier.
I can't believe I've lived without it for all this time. I miss my little car. I can't wait to see her.
Bourbon, Oliver and Felix are all fat and happy so no need to worry. Bourbon made friends with the pit bull next door and he seems to be coming around pretty nicely. They run up and down the fence together and then circle the yard. It's pretty funny to watch. Bourbon is such a good dog when it comes to getting along with others. At first, the pit bull was really mean to Bourbon and would fight him through the fence, so of course, Bourb would fight back. But Bourb wanted to play with him so bad that everyday he would try and try a little bit more until the pit bull finally came around. Now they are backyard buddies. Who woulda thought?
I have to clean my house today. Its so dusty. Then back to work again tomorrow. Ugh. At least I'm making some money (which all inevitably goes straight to bills or shipping the car). That is the part that sucks. It's like I'm working and I never see the money. I feel like I will almost never catch up. But I am going to keep at it and hopefully soon I will be able to start putting some money back for savings again since it is currently wiped out.
Alrighty, I'm off to start my day...Beautiful Sunday....

Back to reality...

So the parents are gone and its back to work for me. Boo! On the brighter side....that does mean that I will be getting paid. I had a good time being off and being with them and was sad to see them go. I'm still working on getting the Kauai pictures up.
Last night was the monthly FRG meeting for the boat. It was a potluck where everyone brought something to eat. There was some pretty good stuff there. I made shrimp fettucine and I have lots of leftovers. I guess I'm just not cut out for cooking. I thought it was pretty good though.
It rained all night last night. I could hear it through the window. When the alarm clock went off, Bourbon was NOT ready to get out of bed. He doesn't like to go out and get his little feet wet. I really don't blame him, but he IS a dog. I have to literally drag him out there to go potty or he would just hold it. Then he went straight back and climbed in the bed again. I was so jealous. I wanted to climb back in with him and snuggle. He is such a good snuggler.
But I couldn't. I had to come to work. Yuck. At least today is Thursday and that means tomorrow is Friday which means the weekend is coming up! I'm probably going to spend it cleaning up my hale (house in Hawaiian) since it is sooo messy from relaxing all week.
Hope everyone is doing well. Aloha all until I write again.

The Parents are Here...

Momma and Daddy flew in on August 2, and we have been busy bees ever since....We have been all over Oahu and even to Kauai! We toured Pearl Harbor including the Arizona Memorial, Battleship Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum. That is a full day right there. I am going to put up some pics of us around Oahu, and hopefully I can get the Kauai ones up really soon. Hope you enjoy! Don't forget to click on the photos to make them bigger if you want!
