Happy Mardi Gras...

Hello everyone! I'm sure you are all enjoying your lovely (and very extended) Mardi Gras/Saints celebration! We wish we could be there. There have been so many things we have missed back home that we really hoped to be part of. We're just counting down the days! There's no place like home!

Charles is at sea once again and I miss him already. I feel like he is almost never at home. I'm not going to know what to do with a normal schedule in a few years. I'm back at work today after the long weekend. I was off yesterday for President's Day, but I just pretended it was a Mardi Gras holiday since I think the president is pretty much a piece of crap. If that offends anyone, then good! Either way, it was a nice paid day off! Pretty much the only perk of working for the federal government are the paid holidays throughout the year.

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day/weekend. I cooked pork tenderloin and taters on Sunday and Candace, Lindsey and Ashleigh and Ryleigh came over to eat. It was sooo yummy. I marinated the pork in Dale's and injected it until they were plump as could be. Then I poured some beer over them and stuck them in the oven in my new Pampered Chef baking dish. It only took about 50 minutes and they were cooked to perfection. So tender and flavorful. I was impressed by my pork-cooking ability. I surprised myself! I've also had leftovers the past few days which are also super yummy!

Monday, Candace and I built her a new TV stand with wood and legs from Lowe's. She painted it and distressed it and it turned out amazing! We also redecorated her entire living room over the weekend. She bought new pillows for her sofa and a new side table at Ross. We put it all together and it looks wonderful. She needed some "umph" in the room. We only have a few more things to do.

I'm so glad that I have found some new friends that aren't attached to our boat. It makes it so much easier to talk to people that you aren't worried about going behind your back. Some of the wives on our boat can be pretty harsh at times and I am enjoying the distance. Some people are just so interested in what others are doing that it is crazy! Sometimes I wish they would just mind their own business.

They brag online to the others when they get emails from their husbands and that can be hurtful to the wives that don't get them a lot due to their husband's job, hours, etc. They're all in an uproar right now about that, and they can be really mean. I havn't decided yet if I'm going to get really mean one day, or just be silent and see what happens. So far the silence is working, but I have a feeling someone will rub me wrong for the last time real soon. Some of them say "how happy they are for others to be getting emails". But they know good and well they aren't happy. I'll say it. I'll admit it. When others get emails and I don't, I am so jealous that I probably turn green. I'm not going to lie and say I'm happy for them. Jealous. I am jealous when that happens, and I wish that others would stop being so much more "holier than thou" and just admit it. Its okay to be jealous. Its normal.

They all say how they are so "over" the drama. If they were really "over" it then they wouldn't respond to posts online. They wouldn't say anything at all. Apparently they like the drama and they really aren't "over" it. So once again, just admit you like the drama. Its okay, just don't lie about it.

I guess that's my therapy "venting" session for the day! That is exactly whats on my mind. Hopefully I will be getting some new pictures up for everyone to see really soon. I just have to take the time to download them.
We love and miss you all!
XOXOXO

Sorry so long...

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry it has been so long since our last post. The new year has been so very busy for us both. We just got back from a weeks vacation at home with the family. We enjoyed it so much. It always makes it harder to come back here. We just feel so far away...we ARE so far away!
I can't believe that one week flew by so quickly. We really enjoyed getting to spend the time we did with all of our favorite people. We also enjoyed the food...we had lots of things to check off our "to do" list and we got most all of them done:
Olive Garden: check
Krispy Kreme: check
Crawfish: check, check
Ichiban sushi: checkity check check
Meme's fried fish: super check
Abita Beer: check
King cake: um, not so lucky. No check.
We just wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciated everyone that came out to see us while we were visiting. It's not always easy with all the busy schedules and work, etc.
And I got plenty of bargain shopping in too! Mom and I had a blast shopping the sales at Hobby Lobby and all the little boutiques. I can't wait to be back home and shop with her all the time! I stocked up on all my supplies for my upcoming craft show. Yippee!
We love and miss you all. Counting down the days until freedom!
XOXOXO
